Just needed to share this somewhere.

....TUMBLR IS DOWN, and omg, I remember my password for this! I need a quick outlet right now, and thank goodness I still have access to this haha.

So it wasn't a fight, more so a serious conversation, I guess? It wasn't that big of a deal, really. Jemuel and I have serious conversations when the situation calls for it. I'm horrible at recollecting all of the painstaking details of these kind of things, but the gist of it regarded him being more accepting and less judgmental about things.

For those who may not know (and for the sake of understanding the story), I am an active member of a sorority, and so far I have devoted my heart to Tau Theta Pi since Fall 2010. Pledging Taus was probably one of the biggest, most rewarding things I've done in my college career. Of course, I knew Jemuel hated the idea, point blank. He was iffy about the idea of it, and while I pledged, he downright detested it. I guess I have always had a hard time trying to explain this sorority stuff to him, since I couldn't divulge too much. We both kind of just ignored how he felt about it for a while and he just let me do my thing. When I crossed and became active, I figured he'd be a little more understanding about everything. But he made it apparent that he still isn't used to it. He admitted to me tonight that he felt so bad at my formal installations because he felt really out of place, what with all the screaming, drunk sisters, other fraternities in attendance, and me being all over the place taking pictures, getting presented to, socializing, etc. I guess he just never imagined that I would be doing all of this hahaha. -__-

What I'm getting at is, he has been extremely patient, and although he claims that he's had a hard time being accepting of it, I would say he's doing a decent job. I kind of overwhelmed him dragging him to his first Tau-related event as my date, without giving him a heads up that it was going to be that nuts. It was my bad for not checking up on how he felt about everything, and I really hope he doesn't get any bad impressions. At the end of the day, he made it perfectly clear that he wants me to be happy, and since being a part of this sisterhood makes me happy, he's making a conscientious effort to understand why I love it, and accept it. I'm really thankful to him, and I feel like, despite his feelings about it, I wouldn't have gotten though without him pushing me.

I plan on taking him to more events, like our upcoming cultural benefit show in the near future, and hopefully from there things will get better. :]

Random recap of random ishhhhhh~

WEEK 3: BREN WEEK! PCN! Words cannot describe how AMAZING it was, even with practice everyday till show time from 5PM - 12 midnight and effed up sleeping habits....and Jemuel came all the way to Irvine to watch it! :D It was so worth it, and it was a culturally enriching experience. Kababayan is all sorts of awesome and I'm proud to be part of the kabafam. ^_^

Pre-PCN celebration for Kim's 19th birthday @ The Boiling Crab (yummy!)

Literally 20 minutes before the show. Fully dressed with our skirts, headpieces, and malongs :]

Maglangka, all girls dance

PCN Moro Suite 2009: NO [MORO]LS!

So, I'm definitely considering more involvement next year in the club overall. And for PCN, I'd like to do another suite in addition to Moro. Maybe Rural/Barrio (lulz, tiniks!), or Maria Clara. I don't care how busy school gets. There's always room for Kaba. <3

WEEK 4: HELL WEEK! MIDTERM WEEK! NOOK LUAU! I must say, practice week for hawaii club was WAY more stressful than Bren Week for PCN. But we certainly pulled things together, and the show turned out to be great. :]

We can't keep apart from each other. 1st year Kaba mixer at Maki Maki (<3 happy hour!)

I have pretty friends :3

Na 'Opio O Ka 'Aina Hawaii Club 18th Annual Luau! Wahine dance Auana: Melelana

Tahitian Aparima: Fa'a Hei Tau

Tahitian Otea: Oviri

The homies <3

Luau week was definitely harder. PCN was AT LEAST before the two scheduled weeks for midterms. I had a midterm to study for while having practice. T_T But HOLLA @ 25/28 ON CHEM MIDTERM 1!!!!!! Buwahaha. 8) I'll definitely consider taking classes, or joining a halau this summer, though. Hawaii club is fun. :]

WEEK 5: MIDTERM WEEK 2!!!! Humanities paper. STUPID, OPEN-ENDED, VAGUE PROMPT FOR THE PAPER ON ANTIGONE!!!!! >:[ I spent two whole days working on and re-working the paper that I had started on 3 weeks ago. This paper was only supposed to take me one week, and I spent three on it because the prompt was dumb, and my discussion leader is super confusing. >.< Blah. Then I took my midterm for humcore. That wasn't as bad. My cramming definitely paid off, though. Otherwise, I would have been screwed. BAH! Half a quarter to go for Humanities Core! On its own HC knocked out 3 out of 7 of my GE categories. I really just don't want to write anymore. :[

TODAY: Fall 09 class schedules went up today. Here's what I'm lookin' at:

- OCHEM 51A LEC (4)
- OCHEM 51A DIS
- OCHEM 51A LAB LEC
- OCHEM 51A LAB (2)
- BIO 97 LEC (4)
- BIO 97 DIS
- BIO 194S LEC (1)
- MATH 2A LEC (4)
- MATH 2A DIS
- SOC 62 LEC (4)

Total units: 19

Freakin' school. CALM DOWN!

1st day recap and second day update!

1st day (3/30/09): I start my freshmen spring quarter Mondays at 1:00PM. The only con to that is the fact that my class is my chemistry lab lasting till 4:50PM. FOUR HOURS?! Normally, the laboratory assignments are as short as two hours, but the first day's assignment took the entire class period. However, I'd say the day went very well. My lab instructor Andy turned out to be super funny and cool, and the fact that he isn't at ALL bad lookin' proved to be a major plus! ;] My hall mate Kristina was in my class, and this one other girl I met, Michelle, attended UCHS and played against Morse's FH team luuulz. It's always a pleasant surprise meeting San Diegans in Irvine. :] The three of us did four basic assignments on temperature reading, pH, and wavelength and spectroscopy (which turned out to be more physics related than chemistry related), and each took about an hour each. All in all, it went okay, but they really weren't kidding when they warned us to wear comfortable shoes. Yikes! My feet were killing me!

2nd day (3/31/09): Today I woke up at 6:45AM and got ready for my 8:00AM class. Kawawa much? Yeah. But it wasn't so bad. I have Professor McKeachie AGAIN as my chemistry teacher. I had him for 1P, and despite the fact that man threw a crapload of material at us at a lightning-fast pace, I ended up passing the class. I've developed some method of studying chemistry now, so that should help me through. CHEM1B is supposed to be harder than the OCHEM51 series I'll be taking sophomore year, and it's also the class that turns bio-sci majors into "psychology" majors. Hahahahah. I really like chemistry, and just to make sure I'm at my best, I signed up for LARC tutoring to sharpen up my skills. 8) But I digress with the nerdy chem talk. After chemistry ended at 9:20AM, I went to HUMCORE1C from 9:30-10:20AM. ONLY ONE MORE QUARTER OF THAT 8-UNIT MONSTROSITY! >:O Ultimately, it was worth it, though, since I'm pretty much finished with my general education requirements. Now I've got humanities discussion at 12:30PM, and then my BIO2B (wooo cancer bio!) lecture at 2:00PM. Spring quarter will be synonymous with "inconsistent sleep patterns," that's for damn sure. I guess it's worth having Friday off, though. :3

But enough about academia. This quarter is going to be PACKED with crazy awesomeness! Kababayan's 30th annual Pilipino Culture Night is in less than THREE WEEKS (April 18th if you guys wanna watch)! ADFSKASDLFJAS! I can't describe how excited I am. It's gonna be so good. I've had practice with my dance suite almost 3 times a week since the beginning of winter quarter. I'M. SO. EXCITED! :D And the week after (April 26th), there's the annual NOOK Hawaii Club Luau. We have to really practice for that one, 'cause we aren't done learning the tahitian dance. April is going to be hell month. AHHHHH! -_____- But funfunfunfunfun! I'M EXCITED! As if I haven't said it enough, I really am. :]

Mmkay, class time!
